Diamond Jubilee Celebration

cakes

June 3rd was celebrated as the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth 2nd. Throughout the country there were celebrations of all sorts. St.Aidan's celebrations were planned with a "best of British theme" with a traditional tea and cricket. The weather, however, was not best of British, and, as far as the cricket was concerned it was "rain stopped play". The tea party which should have been on the lawn in front of the church was held indoors.

The photograph shows just a few of the cakes prepared by members of the fellowship.

Nobody counted but there were around 45 people present with the fellowship and the local community equally represented. A good time was had by all and there wasn't much left over.
