Church supports Wolverhampton Foodbank

St.Aidan's continues to support Wolverhampton Foodbank and has recently received the following letter. The Foodbank team will be joining us for the Harvest service on October 7th.

Dear St.Aidan's,

We just wanted to write to thank you so much for your support and to encourage you all with just some of the ways God has been blessing the Foodbank this year.

from January to June 2012 the total weight of food donated by your church was 19.8kg. May you experience the promise in these words of Jesus for your generosity:

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap, ' (Luke 6:38)

The demand for food parcels has increased by 85% over the last quarter compared to same period in 2012. This expansion of the service necessitated us moving to larger, newer premises in March 2012, a great provision from God. We have also seen an increase in churches across the city supporting us on a regular basis. We have more volunteers wanting ta serve God in feeding the hungry, including 6 students who chose the project for short-term work experience from 3 local secondary schools. Just to give you a flavour of our work......

"Helping here has gíven me a real idea of what the food bank is all about, In the unit you feel a nice presence of God and care. It's great and I would love to come and help again, thte results are amazing, " (student volunteer on work experíence - aged 14)

"Today at work, I had an older lady that was in desperate need so thought about the radio advert and made contact with you. Within a couple of hours you delivered a bag full of food which will make a world of difference to her over the next few days. The service that you provide is fantastic... I will be ĩn touch with you again, and this time it will be to give something back." (Message posted on our facebook page)

The work being carried out by the foodbank is much needed in our City and appreciated by those who receive the parcels. So, thank you for expressing God's love for the poor and hungry by sharing what He gives you.

With Every BIessing
