Bike in church

News - Bike ride for hospital ward.

Pat Poulton a member of the fellowship, has a grandson who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital. Her daughter Katie Poulton and friend Luke Moore have organised a sponsored bike ride through Wales to raise money for the oncology ward at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The bike ride started from St.Aidan's at 10:20 on the morning of October 24th in bright sunshine. The photograph shows the ride about to depart from church receiving a final blessing from the fellowship. Their route will take them along the north coast of Wales, across the Lleyn peninsula to Pwllheli and then down the west coast via Harlech, Aberystwyth and Cardigan to Fishguard and then east to Swansea.

In the photograph left to right are. Roy Kisby, Rev. Jeremy Oakley, Rev. Debbie Watkins, Pat Poulton, Rob Whittaker (at back), Anna, Steven (at back), Freda Lewis (at back), Luke Moore, Katie Poulton, John Smith (at back), Tamsin Spear, Sam Spear (at front), Shirley Smith and Richard Spear (at back).

As far as we know this is the first time anybody has ridden a motor bike into or out of St.Aidan's church. The bike, for those that may be interested, is a Suzuki 650 Bandit.
